As a result, the car was destroyed, the area sustained damage and a civilian was wounded with shrapnel in different parts of his body. This incident is part of the state of the proliferation of weapons and the assault of the rule of law in the occupied Palestinian territory.

According to investigations conducted by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR), at approximately 02:15, on Thursday, 14 March 2019, unknown perpetrators planted an explosive device underneath a car belonging to Police Officer B. M. Sh. (30) when it was parked in front of his house in Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip and then remotely detonated it. As a result, the car was destroyed, the house was partially damaged and a nearby car sustained damage. Furthermore, Ishaq Mustafa Harb Asfoura (38), who was passing by at the time of the incident, was hit with shrapnel in different parts of his body.

It should be noted that the Palestinian Police arrived at the scene and opened an investigation.

PCHR condemns this incident as it is part of the state of the proliferation of weapons and the assault of the rule of law in the oPt. Thus, PCHR calls upon the Attorney General to open an investigation into the incident, prosecute the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
