Call for Intervention before It is too Late: PCHR Warns that Gaza’s Healthcare System Would Collapse in case of Coronavirus Outbreak

Ref: 22/2020  The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) follows up with concern the healthcare situation in the Gaza Strip and seriously warns of a catastrophic deterioration that would strike the health care sector in the case of a Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.  PCHR is concerned over the healthcare system’s inability to respond to the needs of patients if an outbreak occurs. 2 Citizens, including a Woman, Shot Dead in the Gaza Strip

  Field Update   During the past three days, 2 Palestinians, including a woman, were killed in the northern Gaza Strip in incidents of mishandled weapons. On Monday morning, 23 March 2020, a woman, from the Amer Housing Project, southwest of Jabalia, was killed in unknown circumstances.  Meanwhile, last Friday, 20 March 2020, a Palestinian man was killed inside his house in Beit Lahia due to mishandling of weapons. PCHR Condemns Police Assault on Businessman, Jawdat al-Khudari, in Gaza City & Stresses State of Emergency Does Not Permit Authorizes to Assault Civilians and their Properties

Ref: 23/2020 Businessman, Jawdat Naji Al-Khudari, was assaulted by police officers accompanying the Governor of Northern Gaza, on grounds of his objection to the latter's violation of the agreement between al-Khudari and the Ministry of Interior in Gaza City regarding the allocation of a part of al-Mathaf Hotel, property of al-Khudari located in northern Gaza, for quarantine.
