PCHR’s preliminary investigation indicates that at
approximately 3:30 on Wednesday, 19 September 2007, unknown gunmen fired at 3
members of the Executive Force guarding the Military Medical Services Clinic in
Beach Camp in the western part of Gaza City. Two members of the Force were
injured:

Ali Sa’id Matar (18), injured by a bullet in the abdomen.

Rami Zuheir Tuman (19), injured by a bullet in the hip.
They were taken to Shifa Hospital where their injuries were
listed as serious. Both are in the hospitals intensive care unit.
Islam Shehwan, the Force Spokesperson, stated that an
investigation was opened in the incident, and that suspects are being rounded
up.
PCHR is concerned by this attack that is a continuation of
the security chaos plaguing the OPT. At the same time, the Centre calls upon the
Executive Force to respect legal measures pertaining to detention and pursuing
suspects.
