PCHR’s preliminary investigation indicates that at
approximately 20:30 on Thursday, 6 September 2007, unknown gunmen traveling in a
car kidnapped Tarzan Mohammad Doghmush (27) and Ibrahim Maher Doghmush (20) who
are both members of the Preventive Security Apparatus. Both were walking near
El-Saleh building in the western part of Gaza City. The abductees were taken to
an undisclosed location. At a later time, Ibrahim Doghmush arrived in Shifa
Hospital suffering from a bullet wound in the back. He informed PCHR’s
fieldworker that he managed to flee from his abductors, who shot at him and hit
him in the back. An ambulance brought him to the hospital.
At approximately 23:00 on the same day, the body of Tarzan
Doghmush was found near El-Moghraqa village to the south of Gaza City. The body
was taken to Shifa Hospital, where the cause of death was listed as a single
bullet to the head.
PCHR is concerned over the continued falling of victims by
the use of arms by security personnel or armed groups. These incidents are a
continuation of security chaos plaguing the OPT. The Centre calls upon the PNA,
represented by the Attorney-General, to investigate this crime and prosecute the
perpetrators.
