PCHR’s preliminary investigation indicates that at
approximately 22:00 on Tuesday, 4 September 2007, gunmen wearing
military uniforms and traveling in a car intercepted another vehicle
carrying 4 passengers, among them Amer Hashem Allam (33) and his brother
Nader. The incident took place near Oreef village intersection. The
passengers in the second car were returning home to Einabous village
from the village of Madama. Eight gunmen got out of the car and fired at
the second vehicle. Amer Allam was hit by several bullets in different
parts of his body. He was taken to Rafedia Hospital in Nablus; however
he died of his wounds shortly after admission to the hospital. The
Centre learned that the killing was motivated by a personal dispute.
PCHR is extremely concerned by the continued falling of
victims by the use of weapons in personal and clan clashes. The Centre
reiterates the call to the PNA, represented by the Attorney-General, to
investigate these crimes and prosecute the perpetrators.
