On
Thursday noon, 27 December 2007, a man was wounded and one of his relative was
kidnapped by unknown militants in the east of Gaza City.
According to investigations conducted by PCHR, at approximately 12:00 on
Thursday, 27 December 2007, unknown militants traveling in 2 civilian cars fired
at Sameer Yousef al-Hlouli, 33, and Munther al-Sayed al-Hlouli, 34, who used to
be members of the Preventive Security Service, when they were near their homes
in al-Shojaeya neighborhood in the east of Gaza City. The former was wounded by
2 gunshots to the feet and the latter was kidnapped by the militants who took
him to an unknown destination.
PCHR
is gravely concerned for the increasing number of casualties resulting from the
misuse of weapons. PCHR reiterates its call for the Palestinian National
Authority, represented by the Attorney-General, to investigate such attacks, to
bring the perpetrators to justice and to ensure their non-recurrence.
