Fatah Asks Gaza Municipality to Provide Staff to Participate in an Election Rally

The Fatah PLC Elections Committee in Gaza City sent a letter, dated 14 January, to the Mayor of Gaza City, requesting the participation of at least 100 municipality workers in the “Commitment and Loyalty for Fatah Carnival” to be held in Gaza City on Thursday, 19 January 2006. (copy of the letter below)

According to article 59-3 of Elections Law No. 9 of 2005, “the Executive Authority and all the bodies affiliated thereto shall maintain an impartial position during all of the phases of the election process and shall not perform any electoral or campaign activity that might be construed as favoring one candidate or electoral list over another.”
