ALU Condemns the
Zionist Aggression on Gaza Strip and Considers it to be a Genocide
Arab Lawyers Union (ALU) stresses that
the complete paralysis of Gaza Strip by the Zionist occupying
authority, through blocking fuel provision to Gaza strip which
resulted in the suspension of main power generators, bakeries,
factories, labs and hospitals… etc., is a genocide policy against
the Palestinian people living in Gaza strip and an unprecedented
collective punishment policy in the history. ALU condemns not only
that the American stance rejects to criticize Israel for its current
aggression on the strip but also the American administration's
consideration of the aggression as a self defense. Such stance
contradicts completely with the international law and the decisions
of international legitimacy; especially the resolutions of both the
UN General Assembly and the Security Council. ALU calls upon the
Arab and international community at all levels to promptly move to
lift the siege imposed on the Palestinian people, stress their right
to life and try those responsible for the policies of genocide
through the international mechanisms where the ICC comes at the top
of the list or through any ad hoc tribunals approved by the Security
Council. There should be an end to the double measure policy and
submission to the American hegemony and its biased policies with the
racist Zionist entity.
ALU affirms as well on the necessity
to call all the high contracting parties to the Geneva conventions
signed in 1949 to impose international protection for the occupied
Palestinian territories to enable the Palestinian people to practice
their legal and inalienable rights represented in their right to
return, self determination and the establishment of an independent
state where Jerusalem is the capital.
