Two columns have been included for year of establishment due to the wide discrepancies witnessed with regard to this information from various sources. This would appear to be a result of the fact that individual settlements have often passed through several phases of existence, such as military outpost, kibbutz, moshav, and regular settlement, and different sources have chosen to mark the official establishment of a settlement at various phases. The left column in this table contains the earliest date noted for the establishment of each settlement. The right column is the official year of establishment as designated by the Regional Council, and appears to refer to the year the current community in each settlement took up residence. (i.e. see p. 74 concerning Kfar Darom settlement).
