PCHR and
the Arab Organization for Human Rights will organize a colloquium, titled
"60 Years of Nakba… Prospects of Settlement or Conflict," on the 60th
of the Palestinian Nakaba (the uprooting of the Palestinian people from
their land in 1948). The colloquium will be organized on 27 February 2007
in the offices of the Secretary General of the Arab Organization for Human
Rights.
The
agenda of the colloquium includes 4 interventions focusing on various issues.
The first intervention will be submitted by Mr. Raji Sourani, Director of PCHR.
It is titled "Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory… Prospects and
Dimensions."
The
second intervention, titled "Palestinian Cause in the Balance of Regional and
International Developments," will be submitted by Dr. Mahdi 'Abdul Hadi,
Director of the Palestinian Academic Society for the
Study of International Affairs in Jerusalem.
The third
intervention, titled "Judaism of the State of Israel: Philosophy and Reality,"
will be submitted by Mr. Ameen Makhoul, Head of the Union of Arab NGOs.
Mr. Salah
al-Din Hafez, Secretary General of the Union of Arab Journalists, will submit an
intervention on prospects of settlement and conflict.
The
colloquium will be facilitated by Mr. Mohammed Fa'eq, Secretary General of the
Arab Organization for Human Rights.
