Since the start of the al-Asqa Intifada on 29 September 2000 to June 30, 2002, PCHR has documented:

91 cases of Israeli shootings that wounded journalists

89 cases in which journalists were fired at by Israeli forces without injury

61 cases where journalists were beaten and humiliated by Israeli forces

119 cases where journalists were detained and interrogated by Israeli forces

34 cases in which Israeli forces shelled or destroyed media institutions

42 cases in which Israeli forces confiscated press equipment or press cards of journalists
